What is ESG Investing?

Simply stated, ESG Investing or “Impact Investing” is putting your money behind causes you care about and companies who share your values.

Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) advisors research each investment with an eye on its broader impact. At Convey Wealth Management, we do this by partnering with SmartHarvest Direct Index Solutions, to help clients filter stocks to support the values and causes that are most important to them.

Recent growth in the scientific and social science industries have sparked a wider interest in ESG Investing, but the first ESG mutual fund is actually more than 50 years old. It was started in 1971 by ministers in response to chemical manufacturing during the Vietnam War.

Today, some companies are modifying their operations to create a more positive effect on climate. Others are adapting business practices and work environments to improve the lives of staff members and their families.

In whatever you choose to invest, it makes a statement. What do you want to convey with your money? What do your investments convey about your values?

At Convey Wealth Management, we help clients identify which ESG factors are important to them, and how they can make a broader impact on the world with their investments. Together, we design a unique and individual portfolio for each client, based on the causes they care about.
