I assure you - absolutely no one is starring in an action film with this kind of black belt. I am exactly the numbers nerd you think I am and my Six Sigma Black Belt proves it.
So, what is a Six Sigma Black Belt?
Created by engineers at Motorola in the 1980s, Six Sigma training involves a rigorous set of steps designed to increase accuracy and productivity. In short, this training ensures fewer mistakes.
Those who complete the highest level of this disciplined training program are called Black Belts. In addition to being trained to perform the work, they are also trained to lead teams of project managers and teach others how to use the various tools.
The certification process involves technical training as well as people skills necessary to get endorsement from management and others who are crucial to the process. Black Belts are skilled leaders and learn how to inspire cooperation within a team.
